No list of organizations who make the world a better place should ever exclude the RIo Brazos Audubon Society. This interesting group of learned people is dedicated to spreading their message of conservation of our natural resources. Their love of all things avian is richly rewarded by the deep collection of birds found in this part of Texas. I had the pleasure of spending an evening with them presenting my book, “Living Witness: Historic Trees of Texas,” and found them to be an appreciative, curious audience full of boundless knowledge. I enjoyed getting to know this group of bird lovers with their varied backgrounds and professions and their president, David Scott. If you want to learn more about them and join their organization, take a look here.
