The Indian Marker Tree on WayOutWestAustin.com

WayoutwestAustin.com is the brainchild of Laura McCarley. Visit the site and you can learn about all the really amazing things, from restaurants, to eclectic stores and other cool places and things that happen just west of Austin. Laura took a drive out to Burnet and visited the Indian Marker Tree from Living Witness. Here, long ago, the Comanches tied down a sapling to mark a campsite, causing the tree to grow sideways. The tree sits in a pleasant park close to the intersection of Hwys 29 and 281.
